Glenmorangie – Tayne (1L, 43%)

Glenmorangie Tayne is a Highland single malt in a 1 litre bottle, bottled at 43%. It is the second release in the Legends series, which takes its names from stories of the area around the distillery, and it was made for travel retail. The whisky finishes in Amontillado sherry casks and is chill-filtered. The name comes from a Spanish galleon said to have sunk in the Firth of Tayne, close to the distillery, in 1588. The nose combines rose, roasted chestnuts, muscovado sugar, coffee and chocolate-covered raisins. The palate is oily and warming, with toffee, brown sugar and tropical fruit. The finish is long and spicy, with bittersweet dried fruit and citrus.
