A 12-year-old Glenrothes bottled under the Darkness name at 56.6% ABV, in a 50cl bottle. This Speyside single malt was matured in an Oloroso sherry octave. Glenrothes was founded in 1878 by William Grant & Co. and lies in the town of Rothes. It is owned today by the Edrington Group. In 1922 a fire destroyed Warehouse No. 1 and the more than 2,000 casks it held, and the burning whisky ran into the Burn of Rothes.
