This is a Glenrothes from the 2011 vintage, bottled by Murray McDavid at 58.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a single malt from the Speyside town of Rothes. The distillery was founded in 1878 by William Grant & Co. and is now owned by the Edrington Group. In 1922 a fire destroyed warehouse number one and its 2,000-plus casks, and the burning whisky ran through the town into the Burn of Rothes.
