A Glenrothes bottled as Maker's Cut at 48.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is a Speyside single malt, bottled by the distillery itself, with a sherry influence. Glenrothes was founded in 1878 by William Grant & Co. and lies within the town of Rothes. It is owned today by the Edrington Group. On 15 May 1922 a fire destroyed Warehouse No. 1 and the more than 2,000 casks inside it, and the burning whisky ran into the Burn of Rothes.
