Glenturret – Eclosion

Eclosion is a limited-edition single malt from Glenturret, a distillery near Crieff in Perthshire. It matured mainly in European oak casks that previously held Pedro Ximénez wine, which gives a rich, sherry-like profile. A single American oak cask was added, bringing vanilla sweetness and a citrus brightness beneath the tropical fruit. The name means an opening or unfolding, as when a flower or seed opens. The nose offers zesty citrus, candied pineapple, ginger, creamy vanilla and elegant oak. The palate is layered with marmalade, orange oil and tropical fruit, with gentle oak and cake-like spice. The finish is warming, with spiced sun-dried fruit and balanced oak.
