Godet Antarctica Icy White Cognac (75cl, 40%)

Antarctica Icy White is a clear cognac from Godet Freres of La Rochelle, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is distilled from 100% Folle Blanche grapes, with eau-de-vie from the Bois Ordinaires cru. The spirit spends seven years in French oak barrels more than a century old, wood so spent that it adds neither tannin nor colour. A final filtration removes any remaining hue, leaving a transparent cognac that still carries the depth of barrel maturation. The nose offers white flowers, butterscotch and chamomile, with dried apricot and pine behind. The palate is clean, dry and medium-bodied, with apple custard, poached pear and white pepper, then golden raisin and vanilla. The finish is moderate, with soft baking spice and tropical fruit.
