This Bunnahabhain 10 Year Old comes from the Gordon & MacPhail Discovery range, which is built around three styles: sherry, smoky and bourbon. It is the heavily peated expression, matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers ground almond, tinned pear and salted caramel, with a smoky thread and a hint of vanilla. On the palate come key lime pie, toffee apple, oak char, anise and bonfire embers. The finish is lemon peel, nutmeg and ginger, with a little smoke lingering.
