This is a Longmorn single malt from Gordon & MacPhail, 25 years old and bottled at 53.7% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1998, matured in a first fill sherry hogshead and bottled in 2023, with 327 bottles produced.
The nose brings preserved cherries, sultanas, fig jam and stewed blackberries, with demerara sugar, apple pie with marzipan and light coffee in the background. On the palate blackcurrant, blackberry and cherry lead, followed by raspberry chocolate ganache, toasted wood, black pepper, gingerbread and orange. The finish is long, with black pepper, mint chocolate and a hint of tobacco.
