This Speymalt from Macallan was distilled in 2001 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2023, after maturing in a first fill sherry hogshead. It comes from a single cask, with 318 bottles at 53.9% in a 70cl size, and a mahogany colour.
The nose has rich stewed berries, then orange peel and autumnal spices. On the palate come dried cherry, milk chocolate and subtle black pepper. The finish is full and long, with toasted oak.
