This is a single-cask Macallan from the Speymalt range, distilled in 2001 and bottled independently by Gordon & MacPhail after 24 years in a first-fill sherry hogshead. It comes in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 58.6% ABV.
Cask #23602101 produced 332 bottles, released for the Alberta market.
The nose opens with bright orange, warming cinnamon and stewed raisins. On the palate brown sugar and dark chocolate carry a pronounced peppery spice, and the finish is long, with raspberry compote.
