This is a 1980s bottling of Grand Old Parr 12 Year Old DeLuxe, a blended Scotch whisky from Diageo, in a 1 litre bottle at 43% ABV. It is named after Thomas Parr, an Englishman reputed to have lived for more than 150 years, and was blended and bottled in Leven, Fife.
The nose has warm honey, dried fruit, sherried orange peel, nutmeg and wine gums, with vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is chewy and medium to full-bodied, with orange, nutmeg and stewed fruit. The finish is long and mellow, ending in peppery warmth and an oak bite.
