An older Grant's blended Scotch whisky from the 1960s, made with Girvan, Balvenie and Glenfiddich. It is bottled at 70 proof, which is 35% ABV, in a 26 fl oz bottle. The label carries the name Stand Fast, the slogan of Clan Grant.
The colour is gold. The nose is grainy, with hay, apricots, mirabelles, flower honey and ripe pears, plus natural vanilla, a little menthol and hints of aniseed.
The palate is smokier than many modern malts and quite ashy, with smoked meat, cocoa, tobacco, umami, lovage, a drop of soy sauce, salt and smoked tea. The finish is medium, salty and ashy, with bitter oranges and herbs.
