This is a single cask Armagnac from Maison Aurian, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2022 at a cask strength of 48.9% vol. It was aged in French sessile oak, and 248 bottles were filled.
It is made from 70% Baco and 30% Ugni Blanc. Baco is a hybrid of Folle Blanche and Noah, created in 1898 and now planted on a small scale. It gives this Armagnac a full profile of dark fruit, molasses and spice.
The nose combines dark fruit with tobacco, chocolate, leather, orange zest, tarragon and cinnamon. The palate is full, with wild berries, cocoa, demerara sugar, molasses and fudge. The finish is long and fruity, turning drier at the end.
