A single grain Irish whiskey named in honour of Hugh 'The Great Earl' O'Neill. It is matured in three stages, starting in Rechar and Virginoak casks and finishing in Italian Sangiovese red wine casks, a nod to his last years in Rome. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, with no added colour.
The nose is sweet with vanilla, fine wood and marzipan. The palate brings honey, blackcurrant, elderberry and a pinch of white pepper, and the finish is of medium length, creamy with a pleasant spiciness.
