Green River Bourbon is a Kentucky straight wheated bourbon from Green River Distilling Company in Owensboro, bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
Its mashbill is 70% corn, 21% wheat and 9% malted barley, with wheat taking the place of the more usual rye. The corn is grown on farms within 30 miles of the distillery, and the barrels mature in clay tile warehouses.
The nose is ripe peach, caramel and apricot, with cinnamon, cedar and sandalwood. The palate brings toffee, pastry, hazelnut and light brown sugar, with dried thyme and mint. The finish is honeyed and smooth, with moderate length and soft wood.
