Green River Wheated Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Green River Distilling Company in Owensboro, bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The mashbill is 70% corn, 21% wheat and 9% malted barley, with wheat taking the place of the rye found in most bourbons.
The whiskey is aged in the distillery's clay tile rick-houses, a style of warehouse believed to be unique in American whiskey.
The nose offers ripe peach, warm caramel, dried apricot and cinnamon. The palate is soft and rounded, with toffee, pastry, hazelnut, roasted cornmeal and vanilla, and a gentle peppery spice. The finish is medium and honeyed, with cinnamon, dried lemon zest and soft wood spice.
