Grosperrin 18 Ans is a cognac selected and bottled without reduction, at cask strength of 50.9%. It is made only from eaux-de-vie of the Bois Ordinaire cru on the Île d'Oléron, and aged for 18 years in French oak in cellars close to the ocean.
The sea air gives it a salty, iodine-edged character. The nose brings orange zest, wild honey, beeswax, candied fruit and a saline note.
The palate opens frank and energetic, dense and silky, with roast pear, vanilla, gingerbread and fine wood. The finish is long, warm and lightly smoky.
