Hakata 12 Years Old Sherry Cask Japanese Whisky (70cl)

Hakata 12 Years Old is a Japanese whisky distilled and matured in Fukuoka at the Hikari Distillery, which was founded in 1912. The mash is 100% barley, and a portion of it is fermented with koji. The whisky ages in sherry casks, kept in traditional warehouses and a few open-air ones that see hot summers and cold winters. The nose is big, with champagne, dried plums and sweet dates. On the palate there is stewed fruit, caramelised orchard fruit and apple cider alongside the sherry. The finish is sweet, with a citrus freshness.
