This is a single cask Jamaican rum from Hampden Estate, made in the estate's pot stills from molasses, sugar cane juice, dunder and muck. It is the HLCF marque, Hampden Light Continental Flavoured, known for balanced rum with a high ester content of 400 to 600 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol.
After two years of tropical ageing in Trelawny, it was matured in a sherry cask from Bodegas Fundador. The estate has used these Andalusian casks since 2018 for various marques and vintages.
The cask adds notes of pickled cherries, cocoa and roasted walnuts to the full, lively HLCF character.
