Haran 12 Year Old is a Basque single malt whiskey from Destilerías Acha, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The name means 'valley' in Basque and refers to the Valle de Ayala, where the distillery stands.
The whiskey matures for at least twelve years in oak casks of differing origin and toast levels, then receives a finish in former port casks. This bottling is an outturn of 2,643 bottles.
The nose offers strawberries and candied citrus with creamy vanilla custard, plus red berries and malt. Berry jam, white chocolate, malt and fresh mint mark the palate. The finish keeps brown candy sugar and toasted bread, with light herbal sweetness, plum and blackcurrant.
