Haran 18 Year Old is the Original Small Batch Reserve from Destilerias Manuel Acha in Amurrio, in Spain's Basque Country. Batch 1 was bottled in 2022 at 45% and runs to 2,228 bottles. The single malt is made from 100% malted barley, is chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The whisky matured for 18 years in casks of American, French and Iberian oak.
The nose brings walnut, cashew, sultanas, caramel, chocolate biscuit and vanilla over spicy oak. On the palate, dried apple, almond and honey meet leather, white pepper and dry oak, with a little wood smoke. The finish holds roasted malt, fine spice and dry, toasted oak, with a light touch of smoke.
