Haran 21 Year Old Basque Malt Whisky (70cl, 42%)

Haran 21 Year Old is a Basque malt whisky from Destilerías Acha in Amurrio, in the Spanish Basque Country. It marries whisky from ten selected oak casks of American, French and Iberian origin, each re-charred to a different degree, and 2,100 bottles were filled. It is bottled at 42% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or colouring. The spirit is made from fully malted Basque barley, dried over local oak wood for its smoke, and distilled twice in a historic copper still by Hervé & Moulin. The nose offers fruit and blossom with light citrus and candied fruit. On the palate come smoke, earthy notes, oily malt, spice, honey, barbecue and dates. The finish is long, with green pepper, cinnamon and soft smoke.
