Hardin's Creek 11 Year is a Kentucky straight bourbon from James B. Beam Distilling Co., bottled at 54% in a 75cl bottle. The Hardin's Creek line is the distillery's place for experiments.
This release looks at how warehouse architecture shapes bourbon. It uses the standard Jim Beam mashbill, corn-led with rye and malted barley, aged across Beam's different warehouse campuses, each with its own heights, ages and microclimates.
The nose is soft caramel and vanilla, with honey-roasted nuts, brown sugar, red apple and oak resin. The palate moves from caramel to baking spice, toffee, sour cherry and toasted oak. The finish is long, with charry barrel notes, spearmint, light brown sugar and candied licorice.
