This is a 21 year old Hazelburn single cask, released for the 2019 Open Day in Campbeltown and the Springbank Malt Festival. It was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2019 at 46%.
The whisky matured in a refill sherry cask, and 222 bottles were filled.
The nose is a good sherry one with nutty notes, light coffee, a little liquorice and barley malt, and balsamic and wood appear with time. The palate is soft and concentrated, with dark sugar, chocolate and almonds, turning to a dry sweetness. The finish is medium to long, with dry wood, almonds, iodine and cooked fruit.
