Heartwood Vats Out Of The Bag is a cask strength vatted malt from Tasmania, bottled at 59% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It was bottled in May 2023 in North Hobart, in a run of 164 individually numbered bottles.
The whisky is built from peated Nant and Adams spirit, vatted from port, sherry and bourbon casks with a touch of 2nd-fill sherry.
It is described as big, layered Tasmanian peat wrapped in dark fruit, burnt sugar and old oak, with a rolling, oily finish that stays long.
