A blend of three straight whiskeys from Heritage Distilling, the Army SOF Edition of its Special Operations Salute series, in a 750ml bottle at 52.5% ABV. It combines a straight bourbon matured for six years with two straight ryes matured for six and seven years, all mashed, fermented, distilled and aged by the distillery in Washington.
The bourbon rests in new heavy and extra heavy charred American and Spanish oak, the ryes in new heavy charred American oak. A portion of the proceeds from each bottle goes to non-profit organisations supporting the US Special Operations Forces community.
The nose is tobacco, smoke, caramel, honey and pear; the palate brings vanilla, chocolate, floral bee pollen, clove and sweet malt.
