This is a limited straight bourbon from Heritage Distilling, released for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The Land edition honours the allied ground forces who parachuted, glider-landed, assaulted the beaches and fought through the hedgerows. It comes in a 750ml keepsake bottle at 50.5% ABV.
The whiskey was mashed, fermented, distilled and aged in Washington state by Heritage Distilling, and matured for at least five years. Its colour is golden amber.
The aroma is sweet wheat, toasted toffee, nuts, vanilla and caramel. The taste turns to dried apricot, toasted oak, raw cinnamon, leather and almond husk.
