Hibiki 12 Year Old is a Japanese blended whisky from Suntory's Hibiki range, made from malt and grain whiskies drawn mainly from the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries.
The component whiskies come from both pot and column stills. Maturation takes place in American oak, sherry casks and Mizunara oak, and the blend also includes whiskies finished in Umeshu casks, which add a delicate sweetness and a subtle floral note.
The soft waters of the Southern Alps and Kyoto's underground springs contribute to its gentle character.
