High Coast American Oak is a Swedish single malt distilled in 2011 and bottled at 50.8% ABV, in a 50cl bottle.
It was matured first in first-fill bourbon quarter casks, then finished for eight months in virgin American oak. The new oak brings pronounced spice and coconut alongside peat smoke, vanilla, sweet honey and oak.
The nose is peat smoke and spice with coconut, vanilla and sweet oak. The palate is rich and layered, with vanilla, honey and smoky malt, backed by spicy new oak. The finish is medium and warming, with lingering peat, vanilla, honey and toasted oak spice.
