High Coast Berg is a Swedish single malt from High Coast Distillery in Ångermanland, here in Batch 14. It was matured first in first-fill bourbon barrels, then finished in selected first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
The name Berg is a nod to the Nordingrå granite that shapes the landscape of the Höga Kusten. Batch 14 runs to 6,100 bottles at 50% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, and is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.
The sherry finish is said to give a deeper, darker tone, with aromas of dried fruit and a spicy sweetness.
