High Coast Distillery – Berg Spanish Oak

High Coast Distillery Berg Spanish Oak is a non-chill-filtered single malt whisky from High Coast Distillery in Norrland. The whisky matures in large, unheated warehouses, where temperatures swing from a winter that can fall to 30 degrees below zero to summer days almost 70 degrees warmer. In the heat the pressure in the barrels rises, and the whisky expands and moves deeper into the oak. As it cools, the oak's flavours are released. The distillery says these constant changes speed up parts of the maturation.
