High Coast – Silent Mills 01 Marieberg (50cl, 51.5%)

High Coast Silent Mills 01 Marieberg is a Swedish whisky in a 50cl bottle, bottled at 51.5% ABV. It is the first release in the Silent Mills series, which honours the sawmills along the Ångermanälven and turns to the smoky side of Swedish whisky, using peated malt. The whisky matured 82% in 200-litre first-fill bourbon casks and 18% in 100-litre casks of new American oak, with an average maturation of 7.23 years. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose offers clear vanilla with a touch of orange, smoke, cinnamon and pear. On the palate, vanilla meets light citrus alongside strong peat smoke and a campfire character. The finish is full, with liquorice and subtle tobacco.
