A Midwinter Night's Dram Act 13 is the thirteenth annual release in High West's port-finished rye series, bottled at 49.3% in a 750ml bottle. It is a blend of Rendezvous Rye aged between 4 and 10 years.
This Act is finished in two kinds of cask. Ruby Port barrels bring fresh dark fruit, while Tawny Port barrels add a drier, nutty warmth, with the rye's spice and pepper running throughout.
The nose has crushed blackberries, mandarin zest, almond shortbread, fig jam and allspice. On the palate are marionberry preserves, chocolate-dipped cherries, cinnamon bark and oolong tea. The finish is velvety and spiced, with clove-studded orange and soft ginger.
