A Midwinter Night's Dram Act 9 is the ninth annual release in High West's port-finished rye series. It is a Utah straight rye whiskey from High West Distillery in Park City, in a 75cl bottle at 49.3% ABV.
The rye is finished in French oak port wine casks and in French Limousin oak.
The nose is brandied cherries, Calimyrna figs, allspice, grapefruit zest, French oak and vanilla caramel. The palate brings dark cherry, cocoa, cinnamon, spiced plum, rye spice, port sweetness and dried fruit. The finish is warming rye spice and dark cherry, with cocoa and lingering port sweetness.
