High West Bourye (75cl, 46%)

High West Bourye is a blend of straight bourbon whiskey and straight rye whiskey from High West Distillery in Park City, Utah. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle, and the whiskeys in the blend are aged for a minimum of ten years. The bourbon side brings sweetness, stone fruit and corn warmth, while the rye adds grain spice, pepper and a drying finish. The blend opens with fruit and sweetness and closes with rye spice. The nose is often described as honeycrisp apples, caramelised peaches, waffles with honey butter, bergamot, toasted almonds, sandalwood and dark chocolate truffles. The palate runs from maple glazed doughnut and salted crème brûlée to candied orange peel, chicory and ginger. The finish is fresh yellow nectarines with softly building rye spice.
