Highland Park – 14 Year Old Octave Finish (Duncan Taylor) (70cl, 54.3%)

This is a 14-year-old Highland Park from the Islands, bottled by Duncan Taylor at 54.3% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2023, with an outturn of 87 bottles. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered. The whisky matured in oak and then spent three months in an octave cask. Before the finish it showed honey, orange juice, eucalyptus, green apples and a waxy character. Afterwards the notes moved to sherry, a burst of citrus, sugared almonds and a sweet earthiness, ending with a luscious finish.
