Highland Park Viking Heart is a 15 year old single malt from Orkney, bottled at 44% ABV in a porcelain decanter made by Wade Ceramics. The decanter is embossed with the lion and serpent design and carries a heart motif on the back that gave the whisky its name.
Gordon Motion, the master whisky maker, chose mostly sherry seasoned European oak casks for warm spice and sherry seasoned American oak for sweet vanilla, adding a few refill casks to soften the whisky.
The nose offers crème brulee, heather honey and cinnamon, then pineapple and lemon zest, with citrus and vanilla lingering in the peat smoke.
