Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart is a peated Orkney single malt, bottled at 44% in a 70cl ceramic decanter made in partnership with Wade Ceramics. The decanter's design was inspired by ancient Viking vessels found on Orkney.
The whisky was matured mainly in first-fill European and American oak sherry casks, and draws on Orkney peat as well as the cask.
The nose combines peat and heather smoke with stewed pear, crushed walnut and vanilla sponge. The palate is silky and full, with dried fruit, cinnamon, crème brûlée and toasted almond, and a light touch of peat. The finish is long, with gentle smoke fading into honeyed oak, orange peel and a trace of sea salt.
