This Highland Park 18 Year Old is a single cask single malt, Cask No. 4099, from the distillery's annual single cask releases. A total of 515 bottles were reserved for California, and Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion selected the cask.
The whisky has matured since 2003 in a first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak butt, and it has a deep ruby colour.
Oak, ginger, nutmeg and a touch of peat come through, and the finish has woody spice, licorice and vanilla.
