This is Highland Park 18 Year Old, a single malt from Orkney, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. Its packaging was redesigned in 2017, taking inspiration from the wood carvings of Urnes Stave Church, and it gained the sub-name Viking Pride.
The nose offers ripe floral notes, fresh blossom and fruit salad, with honeyed exotic fruit and a little botrytis. On the palate it is creamy and full, with fruit conserves, espresso, cinnamon, allspice, toffee, dark forest honey and a touch of citrus.
The finish is long and well sugared, with a herbal edge.
