This is Highland Park 18 Year Old, known as Viking Pride, a single malt matured in sherry-seasoned European oak casks. The peat smoke comes from Hobbister Moor, and the barley is malted on hand-turned floor maltings. Maturation is cool, in a temperate island climate, followed by a long and unhurried harmonisation.
Honey sweetness leads, with hints of cherries wrapped in chocolate and subtle top notes of aromatic peat smoke.
