Valfather is a single malt from Highland Park on Orkney, bottled at 47%. It is the final bottle in the distillery's Viking Legend trilogy, and it is dedicated to Odin, the chief of the Norse gods.
The whole series was designed by Jim Lyngvild, who decorated each bottle with illustrations drawn from Norse legend.
The nose is fruity, with fresh apples and sweet pears. On the palate, crisp apple and pear meet vanilla crème brûlée, while toasted cedar and warming paprika add a distinctly smoky note. The finish is long, with floral smoke and fresh fruit.
