Highwood 15 Year Old is a Canadian whisky made by Highwood Distillers in High River, Alberta, from prairie wheat and corn. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
It was aged for fifteen years in oak barrels in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. The colour runs from pale amber to bright gold, and the mouthfeel is smooth, slightly oily and rounded.
The nose offers orchard fruit, honey, toasted oak and soft vanilla. On the palate come sweet corn, honey, poached apple and baking spices, leading to a medium-long, warming finish of sweet spice and gentle oak.
