Hinch 5 Year Old Double Wood Madeira Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

This is a five-year-old blended Irish whiskey from Hinch, part of the Connoisseur Collection, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The whiskey spent five years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a further six months in Madeira wine casks. The nose combines warm wood spice with candied orange peel, chocolate orange and sandalwood. On the palate come orange marmalade and stewed peaches, buttered toast, hazelnut and chocolate praline. The finish brings roasted hazelnut, cracked pepper and crushed red grapes.
