A peated Irish single malt from Hinch Distillery, which works in the drumlin country of County Down, near Ballynahinch. It is triple distilled, matured in bourbon casks and sold in a 70cl bottle.
The nose opens with sweet tar, woodsmoke and malt, backed by dried fruit and a hint of liquorice. The palate carries the smoke through with raisin and sultana sweetness, citrus zest and a soft toffee note underneath.
The finish is long and warming with a peppery edge, as the smoke fades slowly against oak spice.
