Hirsch The Horizon Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 46%)

Hirsch The Horizon is a straight bourbon from Indiana, bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It is a blend of two straight bourbons distilled in Lawrenceburg. Most of it, 94%, is four years and eleven months old and made from 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley. The other 6% is six years and eight months old, with a mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley. The nose brings caramel, honey, butter, wintermint, vanilla, charred oak and cornbread. The palate has toffee, cinnamon, baking spices, pepper and a touch of leather, and the finish is long, with leather, charred oak and pepper.
