His Excellency Pure Malt is a Scotch whisky from the 1970s, carrying an age statement of over 8 years and bottled at 40% abv.
The nose is soft, with honey, toffee and green apple peel, along with orange zest, milk chocolate and dusty spice such as clove, leather and old oak. The palate is mellow, with sweet malt, chamomile and pine needle, layered with orange oil, fruit-and-nut chocolate and a little black tea bitterness.
The finish is of medium length, with grapefruit, stewed tea and a faint leathery dryness.
