A Tasmanian single malt from Hobart Whisky, bottled at 43.8% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It spends four years in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then a further eighteen months finishing in French oak Tawny casks.
The bourbon casks give honeyed vanilla, toasted coconut and gentle oak sweetness, while the Tawny casks add dried fruit, warm spice and fine tannins.
The nose combines vanilla, coconut, apricot, candied orange peel, figs, roasted almonds and dark chocolate. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with toffee, butterscotch, raisins, stewed plums, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish carries vanilla bean, espresso and oak spice.
