Hooten Young 15 Years Old is a barrel proof American whiskey in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 62.5% ABV without dilution. It is the oldest release from Hooten Young, a veteran-owned brand founded by retired Delta Force MSgt. Norm Hooten, and it commemorates the anniversary of the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu.
MGP distilled it in Indiana from a mash bill of 99% corn and 1% malted barley, and it matured for 15 years in second-fill charred American oak. Master Sommelier George Miliotes helped develop it.
The nose shows baked apple, candied apricot, vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is rich maple syrup, dark caramel and clove, and the finish is long and warm with oak, dried fruit and gentle smoke.
