Howler Head is a flavoured whiskey built on Kentucky straight bourbon from Green River Distilling in Owensboro. The bourbon spends two years in heavily charred American white oak before natural banana flavour is blended in. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
On the nose it shows ripe banana and warm caramel. The palate begins with banana, then brings vanilla and oak from the bourbon underneath, with a light cinnamon tingle. The finish is sweet and lingering, banana candy over light oak.
